This small city hotel, with 15 rooms, recovers an old stately “casal” in Petra, a well-known town in the interior of Mallorca. Thanks to the investment of the My Rooms hotel chain, this old town house, cataloged in the historic center of Petra, has been converted into Accommodation for guests and tourists looking for something more than the offer of sun and beach that has always characterized Majorca.
The main challenge of the project consisted of preserving the essence of the house, allowing it to be readapted for tourist use, with the consequent contribution of comfort and benefits that the user requires, but without losing an iota of the austerity and tradition that housed its walls.
Thus, the morphology of the house and its architecture have been respected to the maximum, in addition to its characteristic backyard where the porch and the pool allow the user to enjoy relaxation and tranquility.
The “batiport”, the stately staircase or the arch between the first and second “aigovés” allow us to remember times of splendor of the house. Its Arabic tile roofs that hide terraces are part of the urban landscape enjoyed by all the towns in the interior of the Island. Wooden beams and hydraulic tile floors remind us of the rigor of an architecture that deserves to be respected.
