This is a ground floor house, located in the countryside on an almost flat terrain, with open landscape views. From the very beginning, the design of the building was carried out under two non-negotiable requirements: the utilization of a healthy and respectful architecture towards the environment and, on the other hand, a conception of specific spaces that would allow the owners practice their main passion: musical auditioning and audiovisual projections.
In order to be able to fulfil these two requirements, we contacted the responsible contractors for this project and also several experts in healthy construction and bioconstruction, so that we could select accurately the typology of the house, its materials and the positioning and arrangement on the plot, among other aspects.
The foundation of the house was done in a way that it would avoid underground water flows, and also its right positioning would improve the “health” of its owners. In terms of the materials, lime, fibre or “perlon” would substitute common materials, such as “potland” or corrugated iron.
As regards the second request given by the owners, the possibility of using the architecture itself as a facilitator of the correct musical audition, we were honoured to be helped by the owner himself, Miguel.
Every meeting with him was a master class about how to optimize his hobby. He helped us select isolating materials that would absorb the sound, he explained how to avoid reverberation and participated in the design of specific spaces with absolutely master proportions.
Finally, a good sound system and accustomed hearing did the rest.
